A five-year-old boy has died following a three-vehicle crash within the Scottish Highlands.
The collision happened on Monday at round 9am on the B9039 highway close to Inverness Airport.
Police Scotland mentioned the boy died in hospital on Tuesday.
The boy had been transferred from Raigmore Hospital in Inverness to the Royal Hospital for Kids in Glasgow following the collision.
A six-year-old woman and a 39-year-old lady have been additionally injured within the crash and brought to Raigmore Hospital.
The lady, who suffered minor accidents, was launched from hospital and the woman who was significantly injured has been discharged.
Police are interesting for details about the collision, which concerned a gray Vauxhall Insignia, a gray Peugeot 208 and a black Vauxhall Astra.
Street policing officer Sergeant David Miller mentioned: ‘Our ideas are with the household of the boy who has died at what’s a really troublesome time for them and so they have requested for privateness.
‘We continue to appeal for information to assist our inquiries into the circumstances of the crash and ask anyone who had not already spoken to officers to get in touch.’
